After X-Mas.

So, Christmas was pretty good. I saw some family-types I don't see very often and played Hot Wheels with a 2 year old. I got The Godzilla Collection, Bret Hart's book, and a few anime volumes. And inside a box to my right is a new widescreen monitor which was just delivered this evening.

And now I'm done for awhile. See you next year. Have a good one.

I feel the same way, Skeletor!

Yeah, even on Christmas eve, this is me. But at least I'm aware enough of my humbug-ness to have fun with it.

The Pre-Holiday Post.

Not sure what it is, but I haven't really been feeling the whole Holiday spirit this year. I guess I just haven't been satisfied with the way the year has gone, and so I'm looking past Christmas and New Years to the time when everything is back to "normal" again. I'm sure that eventually my attitude will change, but still, it's not the same as it used to be. Maybe I've just gotten old and bitter.

Yeah, that's probably it.

Anyway, here are some possibly interesting topics.

I've just gotten a hand-me-down upgrade to this computer. New processor and extra RAM. Not sure if everything is as fast as it should be though, because I have not noticed a huge difference.

When I moved everything to my new office in the Fall, I was able to set up my two computers separately, instead of hooking them both up to the same keyboard, monitor, and mouse and switching back and forth. One of them is my main art machine, and the other, the one I'm using now (which was just upgraded as I mentioned above) is for regular day-to-day usage. I have an extra Wacom Graphire 2 tablet hooked up to this one, which I mostly just use for assorted image editing, not for any serious graphic work like the Intuos2 on my other machine. However, I ended up using it as a mouse pad more than anything else. But the mouse I have sucks, and I was itching for a new one. Then, just yesterday, it finally dawned on me that Wacom tablets come with a mouse, and I could use that instead! This is a big deal, because hardly anyone ever uses the included mouse when they have a tablet. I might be the only guy in the world who does.

Speaking of tablets, I'm saving up for a new one. It's time I upgraded to the Intuos3. And I want a widescreen monitor too. Hence, commissions. And hence the aformentioned looking past the holidays as well.

There is a gigantic television in the living room. But it belongs to the neighbors. It's a Christmas gift and it's being hidden here for the time being, so the receiving party will remain unaware until Christmas day. This makes me an accomplice in a terrible ruse. And since you now know the story after reading this, you are too!

Lego Maniac

When I was a kid I would play with Lego all the time. I probably owe a lot of my present creativity to playing with Lego. I had built up a pretty solid collection for myself, mostly from the Space and Pirates range, as well as Knights and City. Unfortunately, there were no Ninja Lego sets at the time when my interest in Lego was at its peek. And now they'd got some really cool stuff like Star Wars, Batman, and Indiana Jones. I enjoyed what I had though, and I'd have to say that it was a defining part of my upbringing. It was a lot of fun, but most of my Lego stuff was passed on to some of my cousins years ago.

However, I did have a few things stashed away, and since I'm in need of money I figured it was good eBay fodder, so I dug out a container full of Lego figures. I had to take some pictures for the auction, and as I was setting the figures up to be photographed, that old sense of fun came back. Everything was still in great condition and I wanted to play! Kinda made me wish I was a kid again.

Here's the Space guys.

And the Soldiers.

Lego Figures

There were some Lego sharks and a monkey in the set, so I set up an amusing shot.

Lego Figures

I'm going to miss these guys, but I hope they go to a good home. You can see the Lego Figure auction right here and another Lego auction comprised of specialty pieces right here. They end in a few hours.

Taking the Plunge.

Well, here goes nothing.

I need money. I'm an artist. So, if one were to combine these two truths together, we get this:

Commission me!

Yeah, I'm doing commissions. Specifically, I'm offering paintings. Right now.

Not much else to say except to check out my Commissions Page for all the info on the pricing and the process of how to make it all happen. Oh, and there are links to some brand new artwork there too.

Understand that I'm not just doing this for the holidays, this will be something I'll likely be doing for the next few months. However, things change and the pricing might not be the way it is forever, so act soon if you are serious about getting some cool artwork for yourself or to give as a gift.
